Sponsor an Animal

Love animals but don’t want one full-time? Try our Animal Adoption scheme. It’s like having a pet but without the hassle. They make a great gift for animal lovers too. Just take a look at the cuties below and let us know which you’d like to ‘adopt’. Then you can come visit them here at the Farm. Sponsorship is just £20 per year per animal.

When you sponsor one of our animals, you also get…

  • a Certificate of Adoption with a colour photograph and pet history
  • a membership card
  • our Lineham Farm newsletter three times a year
  • invitations to our regular Farm Open Days.

Please simply call us on 0113 2817880 for sponsorship and we can arrange the rest!

We love our animals – every dog, cat, horse, sheep, goat, turkey, pig, guinea pig and… why not take a look for yourself?

Malachi

Malachi is our gentle giant. He loves taking kids for cart rides – and keeping the grass nice and short. He gets plenty of attention and has a lovely character. Just as well for such a big boy.

Nelson

Unfortunately Nelson, our one-eyed turkey, has recently passed away, but he had a very long and happy outdoor life.  Modern turkeys breeds do not generally live for more than 2 years so he did very well to be around for 6!

Rolo & Polo

Rolo and Polo are our two Shetland ponies. As ponies go, they’re tiny, in fact, you’ve probably seen bigger dogs. They love being brushed (or ‘groomed’), having their manes plaited and snacking on crunchy apples and carrots.

Butterfly

Butterfly is one of our Saddleback sows. She is huge and even though she’s only three, she’s so far given birth to three litters – that’s a lot of babies. Phew.

Rodney

Rodney is a real character and yes, it’s true what they say about goats – they love eating and Rodney will eat absolutely anything so watch your clothes, and your fingers. Rodney likes being outside, except when it’s raining.

Bandit and Chips

Bandit and Chips are our two pygmy goats. They were kindly donated by Napoleons Casino, Leeds. Pygmy means very small, so they’re a little bit special and really cute as well. They came to live at Lineham Farm in January 2008 and love there new home.

Polska

Happy hens lay delicious eggs and our hens are free range, which means they can wander about where they like. Polska is our rare-breed Polish hens. We eat her eggs for breakfast and very tasty they are too. Yum.

Hens

Our other hens help Anna and Polska lay the Farm’s eggs. They roam around laying their eggs in all sorts of strange places. Collecting them is like a treasure hunt every day. They each lay one egg daily, so altogether that’s 30 eggs a day. That’s a lot of omelette.

Sid and Nancy

Sid and Nancy are our white geese. We named them after two famous punk rockers because they like to strut around feeling important, and they spit at you when they’re in a bad mood. Yuck. But really they’re just a pair of big softies.

Strawberry, Cream, Ginger and Gizmo

The guinea pigs are all boys and live happily together in their nice little enclosure – with no fighting over lettuce leaves. They love salad and getting lots of attention in the Animal Care sessions.

Bella and Wendy

Our rabbits are lovely and fluffy. They live in one of the stables where they can wander about freely but are quite safe and warm.

Sheep

We’ve got more than just ordinary, every-day sheep on our Farm – we’ve also got rare-breeds such as Welsh Balwens, Herdwick and white-faced woodlands. They stare a lot. We just stare back.

Jack and Joe

Even though Jack and Joe the cats roam where they like, they don’t bother any of the animals – not even the hens. They’re very evolved, our Jack and Joe.
